I am not sure what's going on, but ever since we got back from our Chicago vacation, my appetite for cars and sweets has been out of control. I weighed 142 this morning and I would be afraid to weigh myself tomorrow considering I've been grazing on this bag of animal crackers I got at Walmart yesterday all day today. It's like I can't get fill and stay full. I may need to do some version of the Gastric bypass version of the 5-Day Pouch Test and get this under control. Scary how easily those slider foods just go right through.

Hello, I just found your blog. What a great documentation of your journey. I myself was thinking about doing the 5 day pouch test...i have been having a hard time with my sweets cravings. Did you try this yet?

I haven't actually done the 5 Day Pouch Test, but am considering purchasing it. I am curious how your sleeve journey has gone and how much weight you lost, activity levels, etc!
DeleteMy husband is still on his post-op diet but we are the most worried about things like crackers and chips which are tempting and do slide right through. Our nutritionist would say that they are a "slippery slope". I hope we don't slide down.

If your husband eats his protein first every time he eats, there will be little room for those 'slider' foods.
DeleteThe 5-day Pouch test is a 'back to basics' tool where you take 5 days and basically restart your sleeve/pouch by going back to liquids, then soft proteins and finally solid proteins. Google it. It's a tool to help reset your system if you feel out of control with slider foods or feel like you've stretched out your sleeve/pouch.
