Hovering

My weight is still hovering between 177-179.  Buy as I mentioned earlier, I'm not so concerned about the weight loss now as I am about getting healthy, both with my diet and exercise.
I've definitely amped up the fruit/veggie intake as well as the fitness aspect. I am feeling absolutely fantastic and strong these days and have never been happier with my sleeve.
I do have an admission to make: yesterday we made one of my alltime favorite foods-hummus. I was so upset at the tiny amount of food I was able to eat that I had a complete meltdown. I had to leave the table and bawl. It was the first real meltdown I've had since this journey began in January this year. I guess I knew it would happen, and its probably a good thing I let it out. I felt much better after letting it out.
Not much else to report.  Thanks for reading!

  1. I think occasional meltdowns/good cries are cathartic and good for the soul. Sometimes you just have to let the emotion out or it eats at you.

And really awesome job at maintaining the weight--sometimes that's even more hard than actually losing it.

Just keep stretching a little further, putting in an iota of extra effort and you'll start moving forward again (if that's what you want).

  2. I think I would like to see some more weight loss; my goal is 150. But I'm not going to freak if it doesn't happen. I think we all have set-points and it's very hard to change that. How's things going for you?

  3. Not bad...I switched my tumblr (I know, I'm a pain in the ass). It is now http://www.slainteanchead.tumblr.com.

I made the mistake of making banana bread yesterday...it's a weakness. But oh well. Bananas, whole wheat flour, flaxseed, yogurt in place of most of the oil and only 1/2 the sugar the recipe called for---it could've been a lot worse.

I've been trying to get in two 30 minute workouts a day. One fairly high intensity and one a more mid-level to low intensity. It's making it much easier to get a full-body work out each day.

So a lot has happened in three years.  On January 24th, I will celebrate my Seven Year Surgiversary of having a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy....
